When we started working with Babraham there was a lot of confusion externally (locally, regionally, nationally and internationally) regarding the difference between the Babraham Research Campus and Babraham Institute. Both Babraham Institute and the Babraham Research Campus were used interchangeably when describing the location and nobody was able to clearly articulate which one was which. Adding to the confusion was the fact that the Institute, the Campus and the Campus management company (formerly known as Babraham Bioscience Technologies Ltd and now called Babraham Research Campus Ltd) all shared a very similar brand identity. It was clear that there was a very immediate need to address this issue.
We worked hard to create a compelling and unique brand identity for the Campus, which resolved the confusion and allowed the Campus and Institute brands to co-exist whilst starting to build equity in their own rights, in a way that was aligned with each entity’s very different and distinct value propositions. The resulting Babraham Research Campus brand is strong and vibrant and is now consistently executed across every channel, piece of collateral, digital asset and on Campus signage etc. This new look allowed the Campus to live and breathe independent of Babraham Institute and set in place solid foundations from which we now communicate all the incredible and innovative things happening on Campus.
Founded and developed at the Babraham Research Campus, Accelerate@Babraham was created out of a desire to support and nurture early-stage life science ventures attempting to navigate the tough and fast-moving sector.
The Accelerate@Babraham start-up competition acts as a springboard for early-stage life science enterprises and is an opportunity for start-ups to dedicate five months to exploration and development in the company of an exceptional network of strategic partners and supporters, at a location which is one of the best in Europe.
We were commissioned to create a brand for the Accelerate@Babraham initiative which clearly associated the programme with the now well recognised Campus brand, whilst also giving it an exciting, modern identity of its own. Having created the brand, we went on to build the Accelerate@Babraham website, which we continue to manage, alongside social campaigns for each competition run to date.
The Campus Portal was designed to put occupiers at the centre of the Campus community. The dynamic, digital space allows users to:
We worked collaboratively with the Campus Team to identify the appropriate functionality and spec for the portal, before designing, coding and populating the new portal prior to launch. Today, we continue to work with the team on ad hoc enhancements to the Portal, host and manage the site.
